The greater Houston area is one of the fastest-growing and most diverse places in the United States. People from all over the country—and the world—are making Houston home. Not only does Houston have a large foreign-born population, but it also has one of the highest diversity indexes in the U.S., meaning that the likelihood of living right next door to someone of a different background is incredibly high.
Among our foreign-born neighbors are many of the least-reached and most difficult-to-reach peoples in the world: Arabs, Afghans, Turks, Hindus, Pakistanis, …. They have come as refugees, CEOs, medical researchers, and more. Foreign-born people can be found in every aspect of the life of our city.
We believe God has given Houston churches a unique opportunity to show and share the love of Christ with all nations. We are committed to helping churches cultivate their own diaspora missionaries and mission teams. By partnering across churches and like-minded organizations, we hope to see a movement of diaspora peoples coming to Christ and making disciples among their own people.
